Description

Our forests need us just as much as we need them. <3 The country’s forest landscapes are not just scenic travel spots for us to enjoy – they are natural ecosystems that communities depend on for food, livelihoods, culture, identity, and protection against harsh effects of climate change. However, they also need care and nurturing from the people they protect.

This #ForestLandscapesPh 4-postcard set aims to show forest landscapes as interdependent natural and human systems, and features illustrated maps of four of the country’s forest landscapes — Sierra Madre, Bukidnon, Palawan, and Leyte — with their respective protected areas, biodiversity, ecotourism sites, industries / agricultural products, and indigenous and resident communities.

Every purchase also allows you to assist in sustaining efforts that protect the landscapes.

40% of proceeds from the sales of the postcard sets will be donated to the following groups, to be distributed as follows:
– 10% to Kadikitan Association for Community Development (KAFCD) in Sierra Madre
– 10% to Nagkahiusang Manubung Manununod sa Yutang Kabilin (NAMAMAYUK) in Pangantucan, Mt. Kalatungan, Bukidnon
– 10% to Ancestral Domain Management Council of Simpokan, Bagong Bayan, Napsan in Palawan
– 10% to Kahupian Upland Farmers Association (KUFA) in Leyte

The Philippine Forest Landscape Maps postcard set is part of the #DrawForestLandscapesPh initiative, a collaborative effort with Forest Foundation Philippines that seeks to promote the importance of protecting and conserving the Philippines’ forest landscapes. A portion of the remaining proceeds from sales will be used to produce more materials that can help spread the advocacy.
