The Flagship Species Initiative (FSI) is a biodiversity conservation project of the Energy Development Corporation (EDC) which generally aims to protect selected threatened flora & fauna species in its geothermal and wind project sites. These species are:

    Flora: Mapilig (Xanthostemon bracteatus) | Fauna: Golden-crowned Flying Fox (Acerodon jubatus)
  • Tongonan Geothermal Project (TGP) – Leyte –
    Flora: Katmon Bayani (Dillenia megalantha) | Fauna: Philippine Warty Pig (Sus philippensis)
  • Southern Negros & Northern Negros Geothermal Project (SN/NNGP) – Negros Islands –
    Fauna:  Red Lauan (Shorea negrosensis) | Fauna: Visayan Hornbill (Penelopides panini)
  • Mt. Apo Geothermal Project (MAGP) – Cotabato –
    Flora: Almaciga (Agathis philippinensis) } Fauna: Apo Myna (Goodfellowia miranda)
  • Burgos Wind Power (BWP) – Ilocos Norte –
    Flora: Igem-dagat (Podocarpus costalis)
